Huawei recently announced that it has won the bid for the eLTE communications project at the Algerian Capital Airport. This will be the first time that Africa has commercialized the eLTE system in the airport field. In this project, Huawei provides eLTE core network, base stations, cluster terminals, and multimedia scheduling equipment and systems to meet customers' expanding demand for airport clusters, video, and data services.
Algiers International Airport in Algeria has annual passenger throughput of 10 million passengers. With the continuous increase in passenger flow, passenger traffic is becoming increasingly saturated and the airport can no longer meet travel needs. To this end, the government has planned a new terminal building with an annual passenger throughput of 14 million passengers, which will become an aviation hub in the Mediterranean and will be used for the influx of large-scale tourists from the Algiers Mosque, the third largest mosque in the world.
