From January 21st to 23rd, INTERSEC 2018 Dubai International Security Exhibition was held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center. During the exhibition, Hikvision officially released the 2018 “Hikvision Cyber Security White Paper” to share Hikvision's exploration and practice in network security with the industry, helping the industry improve its network security capabilities. According to the White Paper, cyber security is not a problem of a certain country or company. It requires international cooperation to cope with this challenge, and the establishment of a trust-building assistance mechanism among relevant stakeholders.

"Internet of Things" is changing from a dream to a reality. Internet of Things technology developed on the basis of the Internet, like the Internet, makes human life better, but it also makes human society face new challenges. Cyber security is one of the challenges. The White Paper elaborated on the status quo, challenges, industry practices, and Hikvision's network security in the current security industry from the aspects of IoT security threats, network security in the security industry, product security announcement cycle, and supply chain security. The efforts made emphasized the importance and urgency of cybersecurity.
According to the White Paper, the development history of the security industry is the first to simulate the figures. In the age of simulation, the security systems are all working in a private network. Therefore, the industry pays attention to the cost, performance, and ease of use of the products, but with the security industry The rapid advancement of the network has led to the ease of use design that was originally advantageous in the simulation era, and it may deviate from the best practice of information security in the digital era. “We have seen the milestone significance of the digital and cyber revolutions in the security industry. At the same time, we have also seen various types of malicious attacks launched against the Internet that have begun to spread to security.” Hikvision's head of network security department Wang Bin said.
To solve the problem of network security, Hikvision has taken a series of measures. In 2014, Hikvision established the "Security Emergency Response Center" to establish a company's unified external interface on network security issues. In 2015, Hikvision established the "Network and Information Security Laboratory" to comprehensively promote the construction of Hikvision's network security system. It has successively established a product safety committee, a network security department, and established a safety testing room to establish and improve the organization and The process is centered on the network security system, especially network security design, and comprehensively enhances the network security level of the company's products and systems. In addition, the company also cooperates and exchanges with global partners such as Cisco, Ernst & Young, IBM, and Synopsys to further enhance product security and provide customers and users with more secure products and solutions.
Network security is not just the responsibility of product manufacturers. Any party to the project, during the entire lifecycle of the project, users, integrators, operators, engineering designers, or other service providers and governments, are all responsible for cybersecurity and face cyber security challenges. Hikvision President Hu Yangzhong mentioned in the White Paper that three-point technology, seven-point management, and cyber security require all stakeholders to work together to meet the challenge, and neither side can hold a fluke.
In the White Paper, Hikvision makes the following commitments: It will support and adopt broadly accepted internationally recognized cyber security standards or best practices; It will support research efforts to enhance cyber defense capabilities; Will continue to improve and adopt open and transparent methods Allows users to evaluate Hikvision's security capabilities.
The 2018 “Hikvision Cyber Security White Paper” has now officially opened to the public, and users can download it from the Hikvision website (www.hikvision.com).
